Winter 2012

  • Ana Maria left the orphanage this past June after living most of her life in a state-run orphanage. She had no proper work training or prospects for her life. Soon after that, at the age of 21, she found herself facing decisions she did not think she would have to so soon! No work, no stable place to stay, and pregnant with twins. We learned about her situation when she was already four months pregnant, and we decided to help her as soon as possible—as our biggest fear was that she would abandon her children and the circle of abandonment would repeat itself.

With the help of our partners from Hands of Hope and people who love Ana Maria and want to see her become the woman God intended her to be, we are now able to pay for an apartment where Ana can stay and prepare for the birth of her two baby girls.

It is still a long journey for Ana, but she knows she is loved and she wants to be a good mother for her girls!

  • After one year of waiting expectantly, Christmas came for more than 300 orphan children and families in need from Mures county!

We thank God for this beautiful and humbling adventure, for honoring us to be His hands and feet to His precious children. All of us involved in putting together the fun activities and parties for the children felt His presence. His joy increased in us with every smile from the children after opening their Christmas gift bag and looking up with big eyes as if they just discovered a great secret! What a treat it was to see their faces lightup when they saw the beautiful christmas dinner beeing put in front of them by people who were there just to serve them and love them. The joy and satisfaction after they did their performances for their friends and teachers was palpable in the room!
